The Supermarine Spitfire is arguably the most iconic and beautiful fighter plane of World War II. An aircraft that will be forever associated with the epic Battle of Britain which raged in the skies over England in 1940. This classic aviator design uses a precision Swiss made chronograph with a Super Luminova dial protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. This design is limited to 1940 units in honor of the Battle of Britain, with the case back displaying original airframe material from Spitfire R6753. Pilot JC Pinckney shot down an ME-109 on Aug 29, 1940 while at the controls of R6753.

It's a nice watch. Built well, leather strap is very nice, keeps time accurately, doesn't creep or lag. I like the history behind it too.

Like the person on the phone said, the watch itself is incidental, but owning a piece of a Spitfire is very cool. The watch itself is not 100% 1940s looking, but it does have simpler looking features that make this watch very attractive.

I was 12 years old when WWII ended. I lived just outside Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Tx. and the war was our main topic. I learned geography from the daily newspapers and of course the news reels of where the major battles were taking place. The history of WWII is deeply embedded in my mind. The first set of books I read in grade school were a series written by a British Spitfire pilot.
When Bristol Watches advertised the Spitfire watch, I had to have one. I love it and am very happy that Flt. Off. Colin Pinckney survived that crash.
The watch keeps perfect time and is a joy to wear.
Thank you Mr. Greg Young for your shared interest in history and a great Idea.

These are really well made watches and the history behind the aircraft they represent makes each one a truly unique timepiece. Wearing one is like having a piece of history on your wrist.
